Priest Appreciation Day- Action Needed please read belowEster Allgower and Ann Slater have kindly provided beautiful spiritual bouquet cards for Priest Appreciation Day. You can find these cards in the chapel, specifically in the room on the left. Please fill out a card and leave it in the basket in the chapel. Please remember to submit your cards by May 22nd. Father Justin will be presented his cards and plant during the daily mass on May 23rd, while Father Antony will be presented his cards and plant at the daily mass on June 4th. Your attendance at these masses would be a wonderful way to show our support.

Patron saint feast day & volunteers needed
Save the date to honor our patron saint, the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Her feast day, which is on August 22nd (a Friday), is a great occasion for us to wear CDA colors to the daily mass. Additionally, we’ll have the opportunity to showcase our organization and recruit new members during the weekend of August 24th. I will need volunteers after the weekend masses to inform the women of the parish what CDA membership can offer them.

Spiritual Remembrance cards
The cards can serve as a remembrance of a loved one who has passed, birthdays, anniversaries, First Communions, Baptisms, Confirmations, etc. They are available for a donation of $3.00.
You can purchase them at our meetings and at the SMdP Parish Office. The instructions for filling out the card is in the envelope in CDA slot. The donations collected through these Mass cards fund the CDA Texas State Memorial Scholarship. The State Court gives out $50,000 in scholarships per year. As members of CDA, your child, grandchild, niece or nephew are eligible to apply for the scholarships if they are a graduating High School senior.

St. Joseph was just a man, a tireless worker, the upright guardian of those entrusted to his care. May he always guard, protect, and enlighten families.

Scholarship
In May, the STMDP CDA awarded scholarships to four DS High School seniors.

Mothers day card sale
For Mother's Day, we sold cards to honor the mothers in our lives. At our May meeting, we prayed for all the moms whose loved ones took cards, reading each name aloud. Money raised will go to CDA outreach and to buy supplies for the Gabriel Closet.

Gifts for confirmation
Nancy and CDA members delivered gifts to the Confirmation classes. These beautiful mementos are for them to keep as a reminder of this sacrament. They were handmade by our own parishioner, Monica Erb with medals made in Italy.

Tree lighting
CDA joined Fr. Antony and the religious ed families in a prayer and lighting of the Christmas tree. We all enjoyed fellowship with hot cocoa, cookies and carols.

2024 Volunteer events

Octoberfest silent AuctionOctober found us in charge of the silent auction. CDA Member Kat Berbel was the lead, the rest of us helped gather baskets, gift cards & we set up the room for parishioners to bid on the items. Kat also set up and ran the online silent auction site.
At the festival CDA members helped parishioners bid on some great finds.
Below in the background you can see CDA member Susan Bonner keeping out of the way but ready to assist as people quietly peruse the items. CDA member Tara Heller, pictured below, does some shopping. I wonder if she walked away with any fun items!

Golf TournamentIn September we helped the Knights of Columbus with their Golf Tournament, and had a bit of fun as well! Our very own Jean Campos, pictured in pink, had a very impressive game! Mary, Shirley, Diane, Cheryl, and other CDA members helped through the day keeping the event running.
One of the causes the Knights support is the Center for the Intrepid. Four of the guys came with their amazing doctor and had a great time playing golf and winning raffle prizes! I had fun shooting their photos, and talking with them. It was an honor meeting them.

How to join
The links for the membership form and payments are below. Print out the membership form and drop off your form with $35 dues (cash or check made out to CDA) at the church office or mail to CDA, P.O. Box 1062, Dripping Springs, TX 78620.
You have the option of applying electronically by scanning the completed membership form and emailing to our Financial Secretary, Mary Gaddis, at [email protected].
