2025-2026 Registration
We will be accepting new registrations for the 2025-26 academic year starting July 1st, 2025. If you submit an application after our deadline of August 15th, please be sure you submit all items below and copy of sacrament certificate(s) so we can process your request quickly. Grades 1-8
Faith formation classes are once per week either on:- Wednesdays 6:00 - 7:15pm or
- Sundays 3:15 - 4:30pm
Each grade has their own catechists and classroom where they work through a curriculum appropriate to their grade level. Each student is supplied a workbook.

Expectations and Policies
Parent Expectations
- Families should be attending Holy Mass regularly.
- Registration at the parish is encouraged.
- Attendance at parent meetings is required.
Student Expectations
- Students are expected to come to class each week, with only 3 days allowed for unexcused absences. Excused absences are sickness, family emergency, or road conditions.
- Please be on time. The class will promptly start as stated in the session.
- Appropriate behavior and common courtesy, at every grade level, are expected.
- No electronics or toys are allowed before or during class.
Sacramental Class Expectations
Eligibility to prepare for First Communion, First Reconciliation, and Confirmation- The child must have participated in the previous year in formal Catholic education.
- He or she must attend Mass regularly.
- Only 3 absences are permitted for the year.
- Age requirements: First Communion & First Reconciliation is age 7 or older and Confirmation age is high school age (9th grade or older).
- Parents are required to attend parent meeting(s) at the beginning of classes as explained on Faith Formation Calendar.

Home School Faith Formation
St. Martin de Porres can verify your home-based program if you desire to do year-round home school faith formation with your child(ren) as opposed to the program above.

Here are the requirements for homeschooling of the sacramental classes (Grades 1 & 2). For homeschooling of other grades, only step 1 is necessary.1) Still register for Faith Formation and click homeschool/Catholic school under "class". You will not have to pay or fill out the policy form.
2) Attend Parents Meeting at the beginning of classes. Please see the Faith Formation Calendar for this date and other important dates.
3) Have your student attend and take the Sacrament Assessment.
The Sacrament Assessment is a series of questions and answers for your student to learn in order to receive the sacrament. The assessment will be administered in February. If the students fail the test, they will have the opportunity to retake it again until they pass before the date they receive the Sacrament.
