Simple con-validation ceremony

• Be done after daily Mass, or anytime outside of Mass when the church is available. 
• The fee for simple con-validation is $300.00 (contribution to the use of the church’s facilities during marriage preparation and ceremony)
• If you want to have a private Mass, you will have to pay the fee as normal wedding ceremony that stated in the wedding guideline.

• Both Catholics married outside of the Catholic Church without dispensation from bishop. 
• One of whom was baptized in the Catholic Church or received into it, and the other of whom is not baptized that married outside the church without dispensation from Bishop. 

• Canon law requires proper preparation for entering the Sacrament of Matrimony and the same is true for con-validation as it is being done to create a valid marriage. Therefore, Marriage preparation will be treated as you have never been married in the Catholic Church. 

1. Complete Marriage registration 
   1. Setting up the date and time of the wedding
2. Initial meeting with a priest or his delegate
3. Take a premarital inventory online or on paper
   1. Please take this inventory immediately after the initial meeting
4. Meet with a priest/deacon or a delegate person/couple to discuss the results
   1. This process may take between 1-3 months.
   2. You must take the inventory and discuss about it before this step
5. Take formal preparation course “Together in God’s Love” one of these options:
   1. Attend a weekend retreat by the diocese of Austin or at other parishes
   2. Attend one day retreat at one of the parishes in the diocese of Austin
   3. Attend 4 of 2-hours classes
   4. Online course approved by the diocese of Austin https://www.catholicmarriageprep.com/.

   6. This step depends on the availability of the dates. 
6. Final meeting with a priest to go over the Rite of Marriage

• For Catholic party: Record of Baptism and notation of other Sacraments from your church of baptism issued within 6 months before or after your first meeting with a priest. You can request from your church of baptism. 
• For non-Catholic party: baptismal certificate that show validly baptized. 
• 4 forms ofAffidavit:  2 for the bride and 2 for the groom
• if a couple already married civilly, a copy of civil marriage license.  
• if you were previously married in the Church, a copy of the declaration of nullity from the diocese you filed for annulment and a copy of your previous marriage license. 
• If your former spouse deceased, a copy of death certificate.
